1. What brought you to CrossFit?
I moved to Cary from Oregon and was looking for a new gym close to our house. My old gym was family owned with a very strong community and I was looking for something similar. Black Bolt showed up on google maps and from what I had heard about CrossFit boxes, I thought it could be a good fit! I got really fast responses on all my emails and it was easy to get started up :)
2. What was your first impression?
I sent my first email about a intro session really late in the evening and got an answer back almost immediately - I thought "wow, this guy is very dedicated and must love what he does!" - and that turned out to be true! It was also great that everyone was so helpful in the beginning with weights and getting everything set up.
3. What’s been your biggest accomplishment?
To constantly go workout my 3 times/week even when work has been busy or when my husband has been travelling and I have had to bring the kids. I am now Unlimited in my sessions and loving it!
4. What are you working on now?
Technique so that I can use more of my body in the lifts and lift heavier!
5. What’s your favorite Black Bolt CrossFit memory?!
When I dropped the barbell for the first time a few weeks ago. It was so hard to let go, but that was great! I also really loved the 12 days of Christmas - it felt very festive!!!
