1. What brought you to CrossFit?
I was bored with doing nothing but cardio and wanted to change it up! I ran cross country in high school and college, but never really dabbled in anything else. My first experience with resistance training began with a program of lower weights at higher reps, and after about a year of that I wondered if I could handle heavier weights. That’s when my journey with CF began. It has been about 14 months, and the programming I have participated in so far has surpassed 14 YEARS of nothing but cardio!
2. What was your first impression?
My first impression exceeded my expectations:) Jason made me feel so comfortable from the moment I walked in and I looked forward to every fundamentals class I attended!
3. What’s been your biggest accomplishment?
My biggest accomplishment thus far is a PR on the Zercher Box Squat. Everyone was so encouraging and it helped me to complete that final rep! This community is truly amazing and SO supportive of one another. BBCF is not your “run of the mill gym”.
4. What are you working on now?
I’m focusing on perfecting deadlifts, overhead squats, and just overall form and proper technique. I’m also focusing on becoming more adept with rowing and DU’s.
5. What’s your favorite Black Bolt CrossFit memory?!
Favorite memory was the thruster and DU workout in the open! I couldn’t walk properly for days (which didn’t bother me at all, because I knew I was all in for that workout!), and I’m pretty sure that was the best leg workout I’ve ever had!
