1. What brought you to CrossFit?
Roughly 6 years ago a friend invited me to a class without describing many details. At the time I was feeling sluggish and fat so I decided to go to one class. I was hooked from day one. It didn’t take me long to decide after fundamentals to join the day after truthfully. After relocating to NC and trying out a few boxes, I was introduced to Black Bolt just days before I planned to join somewhere else. Jason was kind enough to invite me in to try Black Bolt for one week. I thought... hey I will take the free week and join at the other box after. After 2 days into my free week, I decided to join and never looked back!
2. What was your first impression?
My first impression was “wow” what the hell are these people doing. The support from all the members and their welcome was shocking!
3. What’s been your biggest accomplishment?
To be honest just making it through 6 years for me has been a big accomplishment. It has become a part of who I am.
4. What are you working on now?
2017 was all about form and strengthening my core. Someday I will nail double unders if I keep at it!
5. What’s your favorite Black Bolt CrossFit memory?!
Hard to pick a favorite because there have been many. When I am gassed and feeling like I can’t finish and I hear my coach and or another member say “come on Steve you got this” it pushes me to finish and for this reason I have many favorite moments!
